Held For Ransom

Let us start by saying we never like to see this, as our mission is to see every company survive and thrive through these tumultuous times. We'll do everything in our power to bring solutions to valuable companies in the Midwest. We're here to help. Everyone wins when businesses thrive, people have good jobs and can focus on deals for the mutual good.

That's why it is hard to hear what happened over the weekend, as reports came out that a prominent Peoria business had been hacked and was being held ransom. Details are still thin, but you can expect to see news stories coming out detailing the attack. This is at least the second major breach they have suffered in just the past few years.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: this is war.

The problem is that once you've been hacked, the only thing you really know is that whatever you were doing before, it wasn't enough to protect you. It also opens the door to further attacks and ransomware. Once they know they can get in, it is terribly hard to stop the flood.

This is probably why 60 percent of businesses are out of business within six months of a significant breach. These are terrible odds. It's worth asking yourself if your company can withstand an attack.

Walk yourself through a few scenarios as a mental stress test. Could your business operate without its network for 30 days? 90 days? Does your business have the cash on hand to survive a ransomware attack for six figures? Seven figures? Could your production facility continue operating if all of your data was wiped clean? Would your customers stand by you if their valuable IP was exposed in a breach? Is your insurance policy robust enough to pay the necessary ransom? Does your insurance policy make you a target for ransomware?

Maybe you feel like your network security is better than most. Or perhaps your bank account provides you the buffer needed to survive a vicious attack. The problem is that these things are true for almost no one. This is why you see the biggest and best technology companies being breached on a regular basis, including Twitter, Facebook, Microsoft, Target and on and on. Don't lull yourself to sleep thinking just the large corporations are under siege, either. We are seeing an acceleration of small and medium size businesses being attacked, as well. These companies are vulnerable because of inferior network security, and the lack of legal means to recover.

At YouAre | Secure, we live by the axiom an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We believe arming your business with the best solutions before you are held hostage is your best chance at maintaining a healthy business.

Thankfully, we have a solution: Intrusion Shield.

Intrusion is rewriting the rules when it comes to cybersecurity. Consider the following facts:

- Shield uses real-time AI to inspect every packet of data moving on your network both attempting to enter or exit your network and kills every connection identified as dangerous, keeping your network safe from even zero-day attacks.

- Shield has the world’s only Cloud of databases that have been recording, categorizing and indexing internet traffic for 25 years. This is the data that we use to train our AI to understand how to identify all forms of malware. It constantly monitors more than 8.5 billion active IP addresses and has identified 3.4 billion malware related dangerous sites.

- Shield does not report alerts, but has 99.999 percent accuracy in what it identifies and kills in real-time threats. Other cybersecurity products have 30 percent false positive rates, wasting hundreds of hours of IT time researching alerts.

- Shield is the only cybersecurity solution not breached by the recent Russian Sunburst attack, reported to have breached 18,000 businesses and 16 government agencies. Shield is also the only cybersecurity solution not breached by the recent Zero-Day attack on Microsoft Exchange, reported to have breached over 100,000 networks.

You may be thinking that this solution must be terribly expensive, but it simply is not. It is priced affordably for every business in America. You may also be thinking that you will need significant IT support to implement, but this is again not true. Shield is designed as a plug-and-kill solution that is incredibly easy to set up.

If this sounds interesting to you, reach out to us and we'll set up a free demonstration. There are absolutely no upfront costs, no commitment required, and you can try the solution for free before you buy. In just a few minutes, you can ensure the security of your network like never before.
